Recovery Through Faith

Greater Things Through Him

“Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.” – John 14:12

Jesus wasn’t threatened by the idea of His followers doing greater works than He had done. In fact, He encouraged it. Jesus knew that by returning to the Father and sending the Holy Spirit, His disciples would carry His mission into new places and impact countless lives.

This passage reminds us of the importance of celebrating and encouraging the gifts of others. There is no need to compete or compare. God has given each of us unique talents and opportunities, and His kingdom is big enough for all of us to thrive.

Instead of feeling threatened when we see someone excelling, we can rejoice, knowing their success glorifies God. Let’s ask ourselves: Do we actively encourage others to use their gifts? Are we willing to mentor, cheer, and pray for others to achieve greater things in Christ?

Like Jesus, let’s be people who champion the success of others, trusting that their growth is part of God’s plan for His glory.

Today’s prayer: Lord, thank You for the gifts You’ve given me and others. Help me to celebrate the success of those around me and encourage them to use their talents for Your kingdom. Teach me to trust that You have a place for each of us in Your plan. Amen.
