Recovery Through Faith

We Should Celebrate This Year-Round

If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are of all people most to be pitied.
– 1 Corinthians 15:19

If this world is all there is, then Christians really are to be pitied. We deny ourselves, we fight against sin, we endure many hardships, and we cling to Christ even when following Him costs us something.

If death has the final word, then what would be the point?

The Christian faith stands or falls on the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Remove the risen Savior from the gospel, and what remains is no gospel at all.

But thanks be to God, Christ has risen! The tomb is empty, death has been defeated! Our hope doesn’t rest on wishful thinking, but on a living Savior who has passed through the grave and emerged victorious! Hallelujah!

So.. if you are a follower of Christ, take heart! This means the best things are not behind you, nor even around you. They are before you! Christ lives, and because He lives, all who trust in Him shall live also.

Because He lives, I can face tomorrow,
Because He lives, all fear is gone.
Because I know He holds the future,
And life is worth the living, just because He lives.

– Bill and Gloria Gaither (1971)
