Do You Ever Think to Ask God?

Jesus stopped and ordered the man to be brought to him. When he came near, Jesus asked him, “What do you want me to do for you?” “Lord, I want to see,” he replied. – Luke 18:40-41

Jesus asks a wonderful, simple question that God continually asks us:

“What do you want me to do for you?”

Jesus knew the man was blind, He knew what the man wanted. He knew what the man needed. And yet, He asked him anyway.

There’s a simple lesson here.

Scripture tells us in James 4:2, “You do not have because you do not ask.”

Despite knowing our wants and needs long before we recognize them ourselves, God still wants us to come to Him with those desires as an ongoing expression of our trust and reliance on Him.

Thought for the Day: Is it possible that God would rather enjoy giving us what we ask for, but because we simply will not answer His question – sometimes we go without?
