Recovery Through Faith

I Can’t See Straight Sometimes

  • The guy standing at the busy intersection, holding a sign that reads: “Homeless and Need Help.”
  • The aggressive driver behind me tailgating.
  • The grouchy lady working the counter at the coffee shop.
  • The neighbor across the street who seldom waves back at me. He had to see me waving at him!
  • The truck driver who refuses to move over from the passing lane.

What do I see? More importantly, what does God see?

Today’s prayer: God, please forgive my quickness to judge, for I know not the battles that others may be fighting in their daily lives. Please help me to be more kind and loving, more patient and understanding, and quick to forgive and forget. Lord, thank you for reminding me every day that I do not deserve your mercy, yet you pour it over me like a raging river. Thank you for reminding me that your way is the only way. Please help me today to see things through your eyes. Amen.
