I became a servant of this gospel by the gift of God’s grace given me through the working of his power. – Ephesians 3:7
Logging over 10,000 miles of missionary journeys, authoring 13 New Testament letters, planting 15-20 churches, enduring imprisonments, shipwrecks, and relentless persecution and suffering – the apostle Paul’s ministry shaped the foundation of the global church. Yet, here in Ephesians 3:7, he humbly acknowledges that his role as a servant of the gospel wasn’t because of merit… it was entirely a gift of God’s grace, activated by His mighty power.
What’s remarkable is that you and I, as believers, share this same divine enablement. The circumstances of your faith journey may differ from Paul’s dramatic conversion on the road to Damascus, but the source of your calling is identical: God’s grace and power. Your story, like Paul’s, is authored by the sovereign hand of God. Every moment that led you to Christ – every trial, every revelation – was orchestrated by His loving, purposeful design.
Dear Christian, take heart today! You are not a servant of the gospel by your own strength or worthiness. It is God’s grace that has chosen you, and His power equips you. Whether your mission field is a distant land, your workplace, or your home, you are empowered by the same Spirit who worked through Paul. Embrace your calling with confidence, knowing that the Author of your story is still writing, and He’s using you to advance His kingdom!
