I’ve Got a Peaceful, Easy Feeling…

Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. – Romans 5:1

Friend, let me tell you something: there’s a big difference between being happy and having peace. Happiness? It comes and goes. It depends on whether the sun’s shining, the bills are paid, or the doctor’s report is good. But peace? That’s something altogether different. Peace is that deep-down calm in your soul that stays steady, no matter what’s going on around you. And Romans 5:1 tells us exactly how we get it: through faith in Jesus Christ.

You see, when you trust Jesus as your Savior, something wonderful happens. You’re justified – you’re made right with God. That means the war between you and God is over. You’re not His enemy anymore; you’re His child! And with that comes a peace that doesn’t depend on your circumstances. It’s a peace that says, “God’s got me, and I’m okay, no matter what.”

But let’s make it even more simple. Living in peace is like having a bank account full of God’s grace. By faith, you asked Jesus to forgive you and come into your life. And He did! Now, every day, you can trust that He’s there, ready to give you what you need. It’s like writing a check, knowing the money’s already in the bank. You don’t have to wonder or worry if God will show up – He’s already promised to be with you! To guide you, to hold you steady.

I’ve seen it in my own life, and I know it’s true. There’ve been times when the world around me felt like it was falling apart, but God’s peace was like an anchor in my soul. And friend, that same peace is available to you today. All it takes is faith – trusting that Jesus has done everything needed to make you right with God.

So here’s my question today: Are you trying to find peace in things that won’t last? Your job, maybe? Your relationships? Or just hoping life will get easier? Let me encourage you – turn to Jesus! Trust Him. Spend a few minutes today talking to Him. Tell Him what’s on your heart, and then rest in the fact that He’s already taken care of your greatest need.

That’s where peace truly begins.
