“Then those who feared the Lord talked with each other, and the Lord listened and heard. A scroll of remembrance was written in his presence concerning those who feared the Lord and honored his name. ‘On the day when I act,’ says the Lord Almighty, ‘they will be my treasured possession. I will spare them, just as a father has compassion and spares his son who serves him. And you will again see the distinction between those who serve God and those who do not.’” – Malachi 3:16-18
Israel was in a dark place spiritually. Corruption ran deep, and it seemed like wickedness went unchecked. The people wondered if their obedience even mattered. But in the middle of this, a faithful remnant kept honoring God, and He took notice.
God listens when His people speak words of faith and encouragement. He sees those who remain faithful when others give up. And He doesn’t just see – He remembers. Malachi tells us that God writes down the names of those who fear Him, as if recording them in a book of honor.
Dear Christian, maybe you feel unseen or like your faithfulness isn’t making a difference today. But God sees! He treasures those who walk with Him faithfully, even when it’s hard. The world may blur the lines between right and wrong, but God will make a clear distinction in His time. Those who serve Him will be revealed as His own special possession –
His Treasure.
