“Good and evil both increase at compounding interest. That is why the little decisions you and I make every day are of such infinite importance.” – C.S. Lewis
We often think of life’s biggest moments as the ones that define us. But more often, it’s the small, daily choices that shape who we become. A single decision may not seem significant, but over time, those choices add up – either drawing us closer to God or pulling us away.
Jesus said, “Whoever is faithful in very little is also faithful in much” (Luke 16:10). Every small act of obedience strengthens our faith. Choosing kindness over impatience, humility over pride, or prayer over distraction may seem like minor endeavors, but each one builds spiritual momentum. Like compounding interest, the impact multiplies over time.
The same principle applies to sin. One compromise leads to another, and before we know it, we’re drifting further from God. The enemy rarely tempts us with a giant leap into darkness; it’s the small, seemingly harmless choices that lead us astray.
So today, ask yourself: What small choices am I making? Are they leading me toward God or away from Him? Even the simplest decisions matter, because they shape our character and our walk with Christ.
Today’s Prayer: Lord, help me to see the significance of my small choices. Give me wisdom to choose what is right and strength to stay faithful in the little things. Let my life be a reflection of Your goodness, one decision at a time. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
