Eli would bless Elkanah and his wife, saying, “May the Lord give you children by this woman to take the place of the one she prayed for and gave to the Lord.” Then they would go home. And the Lord was gracious to Hannah; she gave birth to three sons and two daughters. Meanwhile, the boy Samuel grew up in the presence of the Lord. – 1 Samuel 2: 20-21
Hannah knew the pain of waiting. She had longed for a child, prayed with deep anguish, and made a vow to give her son back to God if He answered her prayer. The Lord heard her, and in time she gave birth to Samuel, whom she dedicated to serve in His house. But the story didn’t end there.
God did not forget Hannah. He saw her sacrifice, her faithfulness, and her heart. In His kindness, He gave her even more children – blessings beyond what she had asked for. Hannah’s story reminds us that God is not only faithful to answer our prayers but also generous beyond our expectations.
When we feel overlooked or forgotten, we can trust that God remembers. He sees every act of obedience, every tear, and every step of faith. His timing is perfect, and His blessings are never lacking. Even when we release something precious to Him, He knows how to provide in abundance.
Have you ever felt forgotten by God? Take heart! He sees you, He remembers you, and His goodness will never fail. Trust Him with what you have, and He will take care of the rest.
Today’s Prayer: Father, thank You for being a God who remembers. When I feel unseen, remind me of Your faithfulness. Help me to trust You fully, knowing that You are always at work in my life. Amen.
