Simple Faith, Powerful Witness

My message and my preaching were very plain. Rather than using clever and persuasive speeches, I relied only on the power of the Holy Spirit. I did this so you would trust not in human wisdom but in the power of God. – 1 Corinthians 2:4-5

Paul’s ministry was not built on flashy speeches or intellectual debates. Instead, he relied entirely on the power of the Holy Spirit. Paul knew that gospel’s effectiveness didn’t come from his eloquence but from the life-changing power of Jesus. His focus was simple: Jesus Christ and Him crucified.

When it comes to sharing our faith, Paul’s approach is a timeless reminder. People aren’t looking for polished presentations or theological lectures – they’re looking for authenticity. They want to know why Jesus matters to us personally. What has He done in your life? How has He brought you peace, hope, or transformation?

The beauty of the gospel is that we don’t need to have all the answers. We’re not responsible for convincing anyone. That’s the work of the Holy Spirit. Our role is to be faithful witnesses, sharing our story and letting God take care of the rest.

When we rely on the Spirit rather than our own abilities, we shift the focus off of ourselves and onto Jesus. And that’s exactly where it belongs.

Reflection for Today: What holds you back from sharing your faith with others, and how can you rely more on the Holy Spirit in your conversations about Jesus?

Today’s Prayer: Lord, help me to share my faith simply and authentically. May I rely on Your Spirit to guide my words and rely on You to work in the hearts of others. Amen.
