Many people have set out to write accounts about the events that have been fulfilled among us. They used the eyewitness reports circulating among us from the early disciples. Having carefully investigated everything from the beginning, I also have decided to write an accurate account for you, most honorable Theophilus, so you can be certain of the truth of everything you were taught. – Luke 1:1-4 (NLT)
In these opening verses of Luke’s Gospel, we are reminded of the care and precision with which God’s Word was preserved for us. Luke, a medical doctor and careful investigator, emphasizes the credibility of his account, relying on the eyewitness testimony from those who walked with Jesus. These were not just casual observers, but “servants of the Word” – disciples devoted to Jesus Christ, the living Word of God.
Luke’s meticulous approach assures us that what we read in Scripture is not fabricated or exaggerated. As Peter boldly declared in 2 Peter 1:16, the apostles were not relaying made up stories or myths but rather the undeniable truth that they personally witnessed! This confidence flows through every verse, affirming that God’s Word is reliable, inspired, and unchanging.

Take a moment to consider this: God orchestrated every detail to ensure that the truth of His Son would reach us. Through Luke’s Gospel and the testimony of the disciples, we have the firmest foundation for our faith!
Do you trust God’s Word as the ultimate source of truth? In a world of uncertainty, Scripture stands as a beacon of clarity and reliability. Let this assurance fill your heart as you read the Bible, knowing that every word is a gift from a God who wants you to know Him.
Today’s Prayer: Lord, thank you for giving us Your Word through faithful servants like Luke and the apostles. Help us to approach Scripture with confidence, knowing it is true and trustworthy. May it deepen our faith and draw us closer to You. Amen.
