Have You Been With Jesus?

When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus. – Acts 4:13

When we make time to be in the presence of Jesus, it leaves a mark. Not just on our hearts, but on our entire being. Like Peter and John, people can tell when we’ve spent time with Christ. They notice something different – an inner peace, a quiet confidence, and a genuine love. It’s Christ’s life flowing through us.

Spending time with Jesus is more than a routine… it’s the source of our strength! When we sit in His presence – whether through prayer, reading Scripture, or reflecting on His goodness – He refreshes us. His joy becomes our joy. His wisdom becomes our wisdom. His power fills our weakness.

When we’ve been with Jesus, people notice it. They see it in our attitude and demeanor; they can hear it in the way we talk and communicate with others, and they can sense a warmth and gladness about us. When we walk closely with Christ, His life overflows into everything we do.

Like Peter and John, may we be known for having spent time with Jesus, too.

Oh, the pure delight of a single hour
That before Thy throne I spend,
When I kneel in prayer, and with Thee, my God,
I commune as friend with friend!
Draw me nearer, nearer, nearer, blessed Lord,
To the cross where Thou hast died;
Draw me nearer, nearer, nearer, blessed Lord,
To Thy precious, bleeding side.

“Draw Me Nearer” ~ Fanny Crosby (1875)
