New Year, New Challenges, Same God

See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” – Is. 43:19

Well, congrats! If you’re reading this, you survived 2023. Of course, we have the national election to look forward to this upcoming fall… but one crises at a time, right?

As we stand on the doorstep of 2024, it’s natural to ponder the challenges that await us. Maybe we’re facing some health challenges, or personal changes, or maybe a new career, or maybe we’re just holding on for dear life and waiting for the unknown. Whatever the case, it’s always good to be reminded that though our circumstances may change, God doesn’t.

And I don’t know about you, but that gives me tremendous hope. Because as Isaiah reminds us in 43:19, God is constantly at work in our lives, even in places that seem dormant or unchanging. He is the Architect of new beginnings, the Provider of unexpected blessings. And He’s carving out a fresh path for each of us, even in the unlikeliest places.

So as we venture into a new year, let us remember that the same God who led us through 2023 is leading us through 2024. Let us look for His hand at work in our lives. Let us be open to the changes He brings. And let us trust in His unfailing love and faithfulness. He is making a way in the wilderness, and making streams in the wasteland!

Happy New Year! May you walk in confidence no matter what the year brings, knowing that you are guided by the same eternal and loving God!
