Blessed Assurance

Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are – yet he did not sin. Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.” – Hebrews 4:14-16

The beauty of our faith lies in the intimacy it affords us with a High Priest who knows our every weakness. Jesus, our compassionate Mediator, empathizes with the trials of our human journey. He has walked our path, he has felt the weight of our temptation, and yet he emerged sinless. This knowledge provides us a source of tremendous comfort, for we serve a God who intimately understands the nature of our struggles.

It is with this assurance that Scripture invites us to approach the throne of grace with confidence. Imagine standing before the Almighty, not with trepidation, but with the unwavering confidence that we are welcomed as His beloved children. Our High Priest has paved the way for us to boldly seek God’s presence, to lay bare our hearts, and to reveal the unspoken burdens that weigh on our souls.

So as we begin our journey today in the world, let us carry with us the knowledge that mercy and grace await us at the throne of God. Whatever challenges we face, whatever doubts we have, whatever moments of weakness may come, let our spirits be lifted by the promise that in our time of need, God’s grace is abundantly available to us. So let us approach His throne with humility, yet standing firm in the certainty that we are embraced by the very mercy that knows us intimately.

May we take time today to remember that as children of the Most High, we can go through every situation of life with complete confidence, knowing that Christ is interceding on our behalf.
