The people of Israel were on the east side of the Jordan River. They knew their goal was to cross the river and conquer the land of Canaan. But how? What was the path to doing so? And this was spring when the Jordan was in full flood stage from the winter’s snow melt much as California has been this year. They needed sure directions. As Joshua put it, “you have never been this way before.” This is also true of Christian believers on our life journeys.
