“The world would love you as one of its own if you belonged to it, but you are no longer part of the world. I chose you to come out of the world, so it hates you.” – John 15:19
In John 15, Jesus reminds us that we are called to live in a world that is often hostile to the values and principles of the Gospel. He warns us that the world will hate us, just as it hated Him. But despite this, we are called to remain faithful to Him and to trust in His love and sovereignty.
As followers of Christ, we are called to be in the world, but not of it. We are called to be salt and light (Matthew 15:13-16), bringing hope and healing to those around us. But we must also be prepared for the challenges and opposition that come with living our lives for Christ. We must be ready to stand firm in our convictions and to trust in God’s strength and wisdom in the face of adversity.
So as you being your day, take time to reflect and meditate on Jesus’ words in John 15:19 and His call for us to remain faithful in a world that is often hostile to our beliefs.
Let us not forget that ultimately our hope and security are found in Christ alone, who has overcome the world. Trust in His love and guidance, knowing that He will never leave or forsake us, no matter what challenges or struggles come our way.
