“Similarly, encourage the young men to be self-controlled. In everything set them an example by doing what is good. In your teaching show integrity, seriousness and soundness of speech that cannot be condemned, so that those who oppose you may be ashamed because they have nothing bad to say about us.” ~ Titus 2: 6-8

Some of the most offensive and inconsiderate drivers I experience on the roads today are driving automobiles with Christian-themed window decals and bumperstickers. If Jesus himself would think twice about getting in the car with you, might it be worth the thought to reconsider that perhaps he is not your copilot like your bumpersticker otherwise suggests?
In his letter to Titus, Paul understood the vital importance of the examples that seasoned Christ followers are to set for the younger people new in their faith. In a nutshell, Paul’s message was this: Character counts! Live in such a way that those who know Christ are reminded of how they too should live, and that those who don’t know Christ can still see the goodness of Christ in you.
Whether we are at church, at home, in the car, or at work, people are paying close attention to us. Is God pleased with the example I’m living?
